The International Association for Democracy (IAD) is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to supporting and strengthening democracy around the world. We work to increase public understanding of democratic developments, encourage civic participation, and engage with institutions, organisations, and communities to help protect and advance democratic values, freedoms, and accountability.
Our work is guided by respect for the history, culture, and unique circumstances of every society. We do not promote a single model of democracy or a partisan political agenda. Instead, we support principles that empower people to participate in public life, have their voices heard, and shape their own future.
